The club has accepted an undisclosed transfer fee for the sale of Tommy van der Laan to Hanley Town Football Club.
Following Tommy’s request for a new challenge, the club reached an agreement with Hanley Town for his transfer.
While the club is disappointed to lose Tommy, we respect his wishes for a new challenge and thank him for his 11 years service at the club as a youngsters and as our Mens 1st Team Captain.
Tommy left this message for supporters and players:
“Hi everyone,
As you all may now know. I’ve made the decision to move on from Newcastle. Just wanted to take a moment to say a proper goodbye after 11 amazing years with the club. It’s not been an easy decision — this club has been a huge part of my life, and I’ve made some incredible memories and friendships here that I’ll always be grateful for.
I’ll miss this club massively and I wish you all the best for the upcoming season. Hopefully our paths cross again soon. Keep smashing it.
